R and D Mechanical Test Technician

Tennant is currently hiring a 2nd Shift Test Technician to support R&D verification and validation activities. This is a skilled position that performs hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and testing of components, sub-assemblies, and full machines. The work schedule is 10hr days Monday thru Thursday starting at 2pm.

- Execute testing while maintaining accurate and detailed test records - Independently manage assigned tasks and effectively provide status updates - Assist in development of automated test fixtures; repair/improve existing test fixtures - Instrument machines and fixtures for data collection - Repair test fixtures and test machines, whether mechanically or electrically - Document and communicate test results, utilizing basic statistical and/or graphical methods to summarize data

**Required Skills:** - High level of mechanical aptitude - Good communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to interface well with other techs and mechanics in the lab - Ability to work independently, making optimal use of time and equipment - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc) **Preferred Experience:** - Associate of Science degree in a technical or related engineering technology field - 5+ years of test experience in a product development environment - Experience installing Strain Gauges, Pressure Transducers, Thermocouples, Flow Sensors, Load Cells, and other instrumentation - Experience with data acquisition systems, specifically Somat products highly desired - Experience with test automation including RSLogic 5000, DirectLogic PLC, and National Instruments Labview highly desired
