Summary
The Assembly department hours of operation are 1st shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm and 2nd shift from 2:30pm to 10:30pm and assemble commercial and industrial floor care equipment. Some daily and Saturday Overtime required.
Responsibilities
- Assembles small floor cleaning units, partially or completely by positioning parts according to work instructions or playbooks - Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners as required - Installs electrical components and wire harness per work instructions - Installs pumps, vacuums and plumbing components in assembly process - Operates drills, screw drivers, torque tools and other hand tools to assist in assembly operation - Assures quality product by assuring and maintain conditions for good fit and function of all parts/products - Enter data into computer detailing parts pulled and/or products assembled - Test small assembled unit to assure proper operation - Trains others on known assembly processes - Recognizes, documents and communicates quality issues - Performs housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized
Ideal Candidate
**Education and Experience Required:** - Mechanical aptitude; ability to use basic hand tools, torque guns and simple electrical devices - Ability to read, comprehend and execute work instructions - Basic computing and time keeping system skills. Basic Microsoft windows skills preferred - Understands and participates in continuous improvement activities - Ability to problem-solve - Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a deadline oriented environment - Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and adaptable to different personalities - Willingness to remain flexible in work schedules including OT as necessary to meet deadlines - Consistent attendance - Ability to take direction and accept supervision **Required Physical Demands:** - Must regularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds - Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus - Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms - Frequently required to walk, talk and hear
