Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Tempered Networks is focused on meeting the cyber security and connectivity needs for organizations who require uncompromised protection for their business critical infrastructure, endpoints and assets.

As Tempered Networks Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be utilizing your in-depth networking and SDET experience to design, develop, and maintain our automated test environment. You will be in a position to report on and add to the overall quality that our customers expect. As the Senior SDET, your work will be 80% design, coding, documentation, 20% hands on manual testing and mentoring new staff.

• Develop Functional Test Automation for testing builds, existing, and new product functionality
• Actively take and/or share responsibility for evaluation, reporting, and release authorization on all software and hardware products
• Strong advocate and evangelist for best SQA Engineering practices
• Ensure testability of products in conjunction with the development team

• Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining test harness frameworks in functional and system integration environments
• Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills in a UNIX or Linux environment
• Thoroughly familiar with UNIX/Linux environments and tools
• Functional U.I. Automation practices, processes and the use of UI tools such as Selenium
• Demonstrated ability to design comprehensive verification strategies with supporting documentation including test plans, procedures, and evaluation reports
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test
• 5+ years experience in Test and Software Quality Assurance
• Permission to work in the U.S.

Desirable Experience

• Open source test tools/frameworks: i.e. JUnit, NUnit, Ruby, Jenkins
• Understanding of the TCP-IP stack, networking, and routing
• Experience with testing mobile devices
• Performance and competitive analysis reviews
• Small network administration with switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs
