Summary
As Tempered Networks Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be utilizing your in-depth networking and SDET experience to design, develop, and maintain our automated test environment. You will be in a position to report on and add to the overall quality that our customers expect. As the Senior SDET, your work will be 80% design, coding, documentation, 20% hands on manual testing and mentoring new staff.
Responsibilities
* Develop Functional Test Automation for testing builds, existing, and new product functionality * Actively take and/or share responsibility for evaluation, reporting, and release authorization on all software and hardware products * Strong advocate and evangelist for best SQA Engineering practices * Ensure testability of products in conjunction with the development team
Ideal Candidate
* Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining test harness frameworks in functional and system integration environments * Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills in a UNIX or Linux environment * Thoroughly familiar with UNIX/Linux environments and tools * Functional U.I. Automation practices, processes and the use of UI tools such as Selenium * Demonstrated ability to design comprehensive verification strategies with supporting documentation including test plans, procedures, and evaluation reports * B.S. in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience * 3+ years experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test * 5+ years experience in Test and Software Quality Assurance * Permission to work in the U.S. **Desirable Experience** * Open source test tools/frameworks: i.e. JUnit, NUnit, Ruby, Jenkins * Understanding of the TCP-IP stack, networking, and routing * Experience with testing mobile devices * Performance and competitive analysis reviews * Small network administration with switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs
