Summary
Patients and caregivers around the world rely on Teleflex and the Hudson RCI® brand of respiratory products to make breathing easier. Guided by the voice of the respiratory clinician, Teleflex strives to advance patient care by focusing on caregiver efficiency. Teleflex will highlight new products designed to help with the care and maintenance of the mechanically ventilated patient, including the ISIS HVT endotracheal tube and the Gibeck Humid-Flo Kit, designed to remain in line for the first 72 hours of ventilation.
Responsibilities
* Provide day to day management of the respiratory product line, programs and sales support in the field. * In collaboration with manager, develop tactical plan for the product introduction and work with Sales to implement plans. Manage demand planning and work with regulatory on local registration. * Develop and localize regional sales training, education, promotional materials and programs. * Provide input to for product development and pipeline. * Create and manage programs to increase penetration and drive sales of existing products – sales and product promotions, customer targeting. * Create designated product line positioning and pricing strategy; and provide sales support such as sales materials, customer presentations, information for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and recall communication. * Coordinate with marketing for product gating process, responsible for product line through Gate 5. * May manage assigned staff and encourage staff productivity and responsiveness to the needs of company. * In collaboration with manager, create and maintain operating plan and budget. * Perform other duties as assigned by immediate manager. * Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Ideal Candidate
**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:** * Four year College degree in marketing preferred. Prior marketing experience in medical device companies, particularly in respiratory is preferred. Level of selected candidate will depend on overall experience and skill, but in general terms, all positions would require prior sales and/or marketing experience, with levelling as follows: Associate Product Manager – 0-2 years experience; Product Manager – 3-5 years experience; Senior Product Manager 5-10 years experience. An MBA is preferred. * Demonstrated capacity to understand and use clinical terminology is a must in order to relate to patients facing pain, to payer structures in cost management, to clinicians and to field sales and clinical specialty team members. Of interest but not absolutel required would be any candidates with health science backgrounds, inclusive of baccalaureates could also be considered (registered nurses, for example) with experience in ICU, NICU, ER or other areas of the hospital routinely exposed to patient care requiring pain control intervention. In cases where RNs are considered, clearly demonstrated skills in sales and marketing areas such as strategic thinking, influence, anayltical skills and project management must be evident. * Beyond academic experience, three years marketing or combination of sales and marketing experience required * Selected candidates must have a strong bias toward improving patient lives and outcomes, with clear awareness of the critical role pain management has in patient lives, hospital quality and cost, and payer (insurance) impact and cost control. Comfort level in medical environment, with demonstrated aptitude or prior experience with clinical terminology, members of the clinical team and general clinical practices in ICU, NICU, OR and PACU are preferred. **SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** * Understanding of respiratory products and the impact to patient lives and cost to hospitals is critical. Awareness of medical terminology is key * Ability to work with colleagues to drive consensus on product line decisions. * Act with a sense of urgency. * Drive focus and prioritization. * Aggressive, action oriented. * Ability to present his/her “case” in both formal presentations and in one-on-one interactions. Strong formal and informal communication skills. * Self-starter, know how to approach the job, passionate about the industry. * Able to work in a lean environment without a large infrastructure behind him/her. * Understand medical regulatory environment. * Unquestionable ethics and integrity.
