KPNX – News Channel 12 in Phoenix is looking for an experienced Producer. If you have a deep understanding of how to connect content to audiences and want the challenge of producing meaningful content in new ways, this could be a great career move for you!
- Ensure create storytelling that delivers both factual clarity and emotional connections with viewers.
- Produce captivating newscasts and guide anchors and reporters to engage the audience emotionally, intellectually and with a high level of energy.
- Write, produce and publish social media and online content.
- Produce, write, edit and coordinate coverage for newscasts.
- Suggests and produce content that advocates for our community in the form of reporting, commentary, and developing solutions.
- Understands the newscast’s customer and develops a product that meets their expectations.
- Responds quickly to changing circumstances and breaking news with a willingness to change as needed.
- Seeks opportunities to promote more interactivity with viewers and users.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field with a minimum of three years news producing experience preferred.
- Must possess solid news judgment, display strong communication skills, creativity and ethical decision making skills.
- Strong understanding and demonstrated proficiency in TV newscast production.
- Ability to motivate and lead through the creative process of brainstorming, developing and sustaining quality programming.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Solid news judgment, great people skills, strong broadcast and online writing skills and the ability to successfully work with little supervision are requirements of this position.
- Must be organized with the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.
- Must be able to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
- Must be willing to work afternoon and evening weekends.
