About TED
TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
Summary
This position is based in New York City and starts in June 2017. Role will be for 20-25 hours/week. Must be a current college or graduate student, or recent graduate. Must have 1+ year(s) of relevant work experience or internships.
Responsibilities
* Manage all submitted content; this means reviewing and categorizing videos, managing a media database, fine-tuning organizational structure, etc * Support admin in organizing photos, videos, docs and social media communications * Develop content for TED-Ed Clubs such as the newsletter and YouTube channel * Help develop our community by supporting online and in-person events * Create surveys and efficiently track data collection (distribution, response collection etc.)
Ideal Candidate
* Mastery of google docs and excel * Experience reviewing media content * A brain for fact-checking and research * Operating the backend of youtube
