Summary
Technology Kitchen is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to design circuits, troubleshoot systems, supervise our electrical hardware team, write specs, and communicate with customers. The ideal candidate for this position has a thorough and very well rounded base of hands-on engineering knowledge to draw from, with the ability to manage and communicate effectively between upper management and the engineering team. While the engineering skills required for this position are dominant, management skills will become increasingly important as the company grows. Leadership qualities and forward thinking process management are a must.
Responsibilities
Specific Job Duties: * Define system architectures making hardware/firmware tradeoffs * Write design specification documents * Create and review a wide-variety of board-level circuits * Research and specify components * Adhere to design standards and contribute to improving development methodologies * Specify requirements and review PCB layouts * Test and troubleshoot complex systems with hardware and firmware and write test reports * Review designs for proper EMI management and grounding techniques * Test designs to ensure regulatory compliance and support third-party NRTL testing
Ideal Candidate
Required Qualifications (must have): * Digital experience: MCUs, processors, EMI, and Orcad. * Leadership experience and the ability to interface effectively with upper management. * Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with other motivated and talented individuals. Must be good at collaborating with others. * Extensive experience with processors and microcontrollers, analog signal conditioning and filtering. * Excellent technical problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to produce practical design solutions. * Driven, motivated, and not afraid of hard work * Strong written and verbal communication skills; very detail oriented. * Passionate about designing electronics. Preferred Areas of Experience: * FPGAs, Analog, Power, and Allegro * RF transmitters, receivers * AC and DC SMPS, linear power supplies, battery chargers, high brightness LED drivers * OrCAD CIS schematic capture * Spice simulation tools * Regulatory compliance (FCC, UL, FAA, CE) * Review and supervise the work of others * Small company environment - with a strong work ethic and a high degree of self-sufficiency Education and Experience: * BSEE, MSEE, or PhD from a recognized institution * 10 - 20 years electrical hardware experience in a wide variety of areas
