Summary
Our client is looking for a Scrum Master to lead multiple Software Development teams using Agile methodologies. Agile methodologies generally promote a Project Management process that encourages stakeholder involvement, feedback, objective metrics and effective controls. The Scrum Master will facilitate and coordinate the activities and personnel involved in the implementation and completion of these complex projects. Projects must meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality.
Responsibilities
* Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values * Gather and report Scrum team statistics to stakeholders. * Build on the analysis and recorded experience of similar projects to construct better quality estimates. * Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization * Coach the teams to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization * Remove impediments or guide the teams to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to address task blocking issues * Liaise with other managers within the business and manage expectations for the projects. * Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog * Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example * Make consistent use of process checklists in all areas of project management to review and improve adherence to best practice. * On projects which are not completely routine, will be fully capable of the creation or adaptation of a wide range of technical and/or management procedures while still adhering to the principles of good Scrum practice.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Requires Bachelor's degree in related technical field * Second level Scrum Master certification preferred (CSP, PSM II) **Skills and Knowledge:** * Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games * Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team * Excellent communication and mentoring skills * Excellent people skills to improve team environment **Experience:** * Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. * Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burn-down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc) * Managed multiple concurrent projects, and determined their associated priorities and resourcing. * Successfully managed the risk and opportunity situations on projects of limited complexity.
