Responsibilities
* Works closely with Anesthesia CEO, CFO, EVP, Operations teams, HCFS and other Corporate departments to identify opportunities for enhanced operational and financial performance. * Provides operations oversight on provider hold management for Knoxville team. * Provides operations leadership and direction to Provider Scheduling and Time & Attendance process and systems. * Direct oversight of Anesthesia Payroll Department. * Responsible for management and direction of Provider compensation. * Assist operations on implementation of operational process refinement projects. * Facilitate new M&A financial and operational system integration in conjunction with Anesthesia Operational Finance, Corporate Finance, and Project & Process Management. * Participate in monthly financial review and monthly financial projection process. * Provides support to the annual budgeting process. * Assist in year-end goal measurement and subsequent year goal establishment for bonus process. * Assist with Managed Care oversight and direction. **Results Orientation:** * Demonstrated hands-on Action-orientation with an understanding for process. * Demonstrates that he/she has the analytical problem-solving skills necessary to help a healthcare organization accomplish its mission. * Will be able to point to examples of having delivered outstanding results in quality and performance improvement initiatives. * A good business sense; able to link quality care and patient safety to improved hospital financial performance. **Strategic Orientation:** * Ideally the candidate will not only have created the vision within his/her current function, but also raised broader issues, influencing overall organizational strategy, thereby contributing to the larger planning process and helping shape the future of the entire organization. **Collegiality and Teamwork:** * Evidence of an ability to create a culture of collegiality and respect for the clinical and operational stakeholders that contribute to success as evidenced by a history of removing barriers, providing resources, and skill at facilitating the subordination of individual needs in order to achieve a common goal. * Group-oriented, collaborative, and exhibits a positive attitude and appropriate humility. Must be a problem solver, team player, and be self-motivated and driven. * Must be focused on the development of people including strong skills in mentoring, coaching, building effective teams, selecting physician management talent, and building and growing skill sets. * Leads by example and through influence. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** * Oversees the payroll department with direct management and development of the Payroll Manager.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Experience:** * Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or Finance. * MBA, CPA or other professional certification strongly preferred, but not required. * 10 years of related business experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. * Experience in public accounting or consulting experience is desirable. * Knowledge of healthcare accounts receivable and billing issues is preferred. * A track record which points to the capability to operate effectively and flexibly in an evolving organizational model where the individual will need to sponsor initiatives in leading change, in effectively managing change, and in working within a highly skilled senior executive team. * A highly self-motivated, highly energetic leader with an internal sense of direction that demonstrates initiative and achieves results within a team environment. * Possesses superb communication skills and exceptional listening skills, and is extremely comfortable expressing ideas and representing the organization in both formal and informal settings. * Must possess strong leadership style and ability to get things done with a high energy level. * Advanced proficiency in various computer applications, i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, database management and presentation software. **Physical / Environmental Demands:** * Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting * Occasional lifting/carrying (10 pounds or less) * Occasional standing/bending * Prolonged sitting * Prolonged work at a computer/PC * Occasional to moderate prolonged working hours into evenings/weekends * Occasional overnight travel
