Summary
The Project Manager plans and executes projects to ensure that deliverables are completed as scheduled and consistent with business requirements. Works closely with business users, project stakeholders, management, vendors and communicates project status, issues and variances from the original plan. Identifies root cause for projects deviating from the original plan, and recommends corrective action.
Responsibilities
* Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of a wide variety of projects. * Responsible for driving projects from concept through final implementation. * Develops detailed project work plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements. * Tracks and reports project status to stakeholders, management, and end users on a regular basis. * Chairs and leads project meetings with the project team, stakeholders, management, end users, and vendors. * Formulates and defines scope and objectives of projects in collaboration with project stakeholders. * Understands existing business processes and project impact. * Understands how project results can enable business process change. * Documents all aspects of the project including any business process changes. * Manages expectations throughout the project management lifecycle. * Coordinates with other Project Managers, Team Leads, BAs and management to ensure projects are executed as planned. * Manages requests for changes and prioritizes work based on business needs and available resources. * Manages maintenance processes and procedures. * Uses outside subject matter experts when appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another technical or business major from an accredited college or technical institute. * Five (5) to eight (8) years of overall project management in the insurance technology domain. * Insurance domain business knowledge is preferred. * Must be open to travel within the State of Florida.
