Data Architect

The Data Architect is a software expert who makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms.

* Analysis of business requirements. * Development of enterprise data, information architecture, and models. * Hardware configuration design, performance tuning, and scalability. * Work collaboratively with multiple teams of developers, analysts, project managers, and QA personnel to develop enterprise-level software products. * Communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with both technical and non-technical colleagues. * Research new tools, technologies, and techniques and provide recommendations and best practices. * Mentor or coach junior level resources. * Conduct Code Reviews if needed. * Act as the gatekeeper for all database changes. * Act as the gatekeeper for all script changes for production promotion. * Assisting the Business Analysis team with data modeling. * Assisting the QA team with data modeling for testing.

* Must be an SQL Expert * Experience with data integration software * Experience with development of enterprise data, information architecture, and models * Experience with hardware configuration design, performance tuning, and scalability * Understanding of database design * Knowledge of BI practices and tools * Experience with ETL * Dimensional and Transactional modeling * Data Hierarchy and classification * Experience working with DB2 * Experience working with IBM Data Stage * Familiarity with IBM Tools and Products such as WebSphere and DB2 * Experience with Kanban methodology * Familiarity with IBM Data Architect * Familiarity with Pervasive **CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:** * Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science, Master's degree is a plus. * 8-10 years experience as a data architect * Travel Required: Up to 30% depending on location.
