Summary
The Senior Researcher is responsible for planning and executing user-centered research to uncover new opportunities and suggest solutions that will shape the aviation industry for our clients. The position demands experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative user-centered research methods. The Senior Researcher will use these research findings to collaborate with the design teams, translating insights into concepts and then following projects all the way through production.
Responsibilities
You are a seasoned researcher who understands that the best design solutions come from a thorough understanding of user needs. In this role, you would be responsible for defining and implementing user-centric research that identifies the needs, attitudes and behaviors to inform new experience design solutions. You believe passionately in the value of research and would gladly serve as an ambassador for the importance of research when it comes to creating products that meet-or even anticipate-client needs. You are nimble and flexible, equally happy to provide research on physical, digital or service-related solutions. You are also adept at synthesizing data, applying both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to it, and then capable at communicating it effectively to others. Throughout the process-from the research, strategy and concept creation phases through design development and implementation-you are committed to making sure that the user's perspective is always in the forefront of people's minds. You are a gifted diplomat and know that collaboration is the secret to success-you thrive when working with diverse teams, clients, and different levels of management to bring about truly exciting solutions.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in human factors, psychology, user experience research, social sciences, or equivalent field required; Master’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred; 5+ years related work experience, preferably in a corporate and/or consulting environment; experience in all phases of research from product design through development; advanced understanding of multiple aircraft program requirements preferred * Skills: Experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative user-centered research methods; demonstrated problem solving, decision-making, and collaboration skills; excellent communication and negotiation skills; demonstrated experience successfully presenting to internal/external stakeholders; ability to multitask within a dynamic organization * Passion: Using research to inform the creative process * Role: Gathering information and then applying it so as to create better solutions and designs * Personality: Innovative, collaborative, curious, disciplined, problem-solver
