About TEAGUE
Founded in 1926 by design pioneer Walter Dorwin Teague, TEAGUE is the original design consultancy. As proof, our portfolio spans many firsts: the Polaroid camera, the UPS truck, Texaco-branded service stations, the Pringles canister, and the Xbox.
Summary
**Why We Need This Position** A good idea without a solution is like an aircraft without wings—it just can’t get off the ground on its own. We don’t just need idea people at TEAGUE. A successful invention marries the vision with the nuts-and-bolts reality. Which is why we need people like you, who spent their childhoods dismantling alarm clocks to see how they worked.
Responsibilities
The Senior Designer, Mechanical Design conceptualizes and develops mechanical solutions at a high level of difficulty, complexity or scope or for which few precedents exist. The Senior Designer assists the Mechanical Design Manager to ensure that mechanical design is of the highest quality and represents contemporary thinking and best practices. The Senior Designer is also responsible for mentoring colleagues and ensuring that client objectives are met. In this position you’ll work at the leading edge of commercial aviation, collaborating with world’s largest aerospace company to imagine and build the future.
Ideal Candidate
**Who We’re Looking For** You are a natural and charismatic leader with robust technical skills and a deep love of flight. You are prepared to serve as Project Lead and advisor on complex technical issues; to gracefully lead cross-functional teams to successful completion of deliverables for clients; and to mentor staff by modeling thought leadership and by actively engaging on projects. You are excited to serve as an ambassador for Mechanical Design, both within TEAGUE and beyond. Although you’re capable of taking charge, you’re equally happy to roll up your sleeves and dig in to the creative work of developing complex machine and/or mechanism design for a wide array of projects. You have a solid grasp of structural requirements for aircraft interior components and the technical know-how to get the job done. This means you can coordinate stress analysis and requirements for component design considerations, and can comply and assist with the certified AS9100 quality system. In short, you are evangelical about Mechanical Design and capable of conveying that enthusiasm, knowledge and vision to team members, other divisions and clients. **What We Just Said, Now in 5 Bullet Points (a.k.a.
