Summary
The Project Management Manager leads the Global Design Studio's Project Management Team by developing, positioning and building consistent project management approaches and by developing critical success metrics. In collaboration with others, the role is responsible for developing project estimates, performing risk assessments, generating clear project plans and strategies, managing work productivity, and handling internal and client communications. A strong experience and appreciation for design and collaboration with creative teams is critical to delivering compelling results.
Responsibilities

You excel at guiding complex, multi-discipline projects from start to finish, including: scoping and framing new projects; planning and overseeing budgets and resources; managing team dynamics and work productivity; and handling internal and client communications in-sync with the creative/project lead. You will work closely with the business development team and creative leadership to develop project estimates, including performing risk assessments; work with clients to determine a clear scope of work, deliverables, timeline and target budget; identify improvements to project strategy; and anticipate client needs. In short, it's up to you and the PM team to help ensure that projects stay on schedule and on budget and that we've met client expectations. Well versed in best project management practices, you will help refine the project management team's approach across GDS by building a strong team culture and through close mentoring. You will also get to put your excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills to work with diverse groups of people. Ideal Candidate
* Experience: Bachelor's degree in a creative field, a degree in engineering or industrial design preferred; PMP certification or education from a PMI accredited organization preferred; 7+ years of experience as a principal project manager in a design, product development, or design consulting environment; 3+ years in a manager role preferred; 5+ years of experience managing project teams of up to 15-20+ employees/contractors; experience writing proposals; exceptional financial experience with project budgets/spreadsheets * Skills: Scoping and framing new projects; planning budgets and resources; managing team dynamics and work productivity; communicating effectively both internally and with clients; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, MS Project; basic Mac skills; exceptionally strong knowledge of project management best practices, methodologies, and tools * Special Requirements: Domestic and international travel up to 15% of the time in support of client and/or vendor meetings; regular attendance in the work place; frequently required to travel to other TEAGUE facilities in the greater Seattle area * Passion: Leading, mentoring, refining and building an effective big-picture PM team and strategy grounded in details * Role: Guiding the project management team in order to support the creative teams with clear project strategies and meeting the expectations of clients; meeting GDS's overall best practices and goals for project effectiveness with clarity of processes * Personality: Entrepreneurial and a self-starter, hands-on, passionate, high-energy, proactive, innovative, decisive
