Summary
We're seeking a Technical Program Manager - R&D, in our Pontiac, Michigan location that is looking for the opportunity to be part of our innovative and exciting products.
Responsibilities
* Develop multi-spectral laser based spectroscopy systems, especially in NIR range for laser characterization and studying surface chemical, absorption and transmission, scattering in both of in-vitro and in-vivo sample specimens * Investigate and analyze spectroscopic light sources including, but not limited to, laser technologies from gas to solid state lasers (from basic diode to DFB-Distributed Feed Back and quantum cascade technologies): with particular emphasis on light sources for spectrometers measuring surface and near surface properties * Use CAE software to analyze spectroscopic measurement systems and sample characteristics, including: chemical properties, spectroscopy optical path designs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for thermal transfer, thermal radiation studying micro, macro and localized heat effects for active & passive components, including laser sensor design and performance evaluation * Utilize knowledge of human non-invasive physiological and biochemical signal detection and measurement through placement of appropriate sensors in close proximity to human tissues, including optical sensing and information extraction of human tissue features and properties * Design, develop, test and report on electro-mechanical sub-systems that compose multispectral laboratory prototype and pre-production automotive sensors
Ideal Candidate
**Job Requirements** Bachelor's Degree in Physics and/or Materials Science, or foreign equivalent education, and 4 years' experience in the following; * Analysis of human non-invasive physiological and biochemical signal detection and measurement through placement of appropriate sensors in close proximity to human tissue, including optical sensing and information extraction of human tissue features and properties * Laboratory experience in surface measurement using infrared, Laser and Raman spectroscopic systems used to detect and measure chemical composition, surface defects and/or chemical dynamics * Measurement, handling and testing of time variable and/or reactive chemical formulations in spectroscopic systems * Apply spectroscopic measurement methods and procedures for sample preparation, mounting, testing and data analysis * Apply chemical molecular modeling, mechanical stress/strain, thermal analysis and simulation tools using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools (both Hardware and Software)
