Summary
We’re seeking a PrototypeTeam Lead in Orlando, FL location who are looking for the opportunity to be part of our innovative and exciting products.
Responsibilities
* The Lead position supervises the workflow of the prototyping group, and maintains close lines of communication with leadership. * Leads applicable prototype projects and R&D. * Manages daily job tasks and goals to team members. * Interfaces with Quality Control to correct maintenance discrepancies, procure parts, and ensure in-process inspections occur at all points. * Understands and shares updates on technical data and project milestones to team and leadership. * Performs daily in-process inspections. * Coaches and trains team members on correct prototype/first article methods. * Provides support and resources needed to team members to succeed, such as tools, equipment, parts, and materials. * Daily update of all travelers and employee data sheets. * Maintains job duties of Prototype Technician to a Level A performance standard. * Assure that all finish final dimensions are met before First Article/prototype is in production and goes to final inspection. * Assure that all individual part(s) weights and maximum final seat/divan weights are met and recorded in prototype and first article phase. * Performs other duties as assigned, including duties of subordinates as needed.
Ideal Candidate
**Job Requirements** * Thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment of aircraft interiors. * Must be able to read and interpret design patterns, drawings, and specifications of aircraft interior products. * Comprehend renderings/drawings for prototype and production seats and divans. * Skill level to shape complex foam designs for Seat and Divan backs, cushions, head rest, Arms, and Leg rest. * Skill level to install Leather/Fabric Dress Covers on Seat and Divan backs, cushions, head rest, arms, and leg rest. * Ability to communicate with pattern maker to make required adjustments on above seat part patterns. * Knowledge of required quality standards for VIP Seats and Divans. Comprehends individual customer quality manuals and assure those requirements are met on specific project (examples: Air Bus Quality Standards and Lufthansa Quality Standards). * High School Diploma or GED equivalent. * Five years’ experience in upholstery foam and dress cover installation specifically within the aviation industry. * Must be able to work required overtime. * Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written to internal and external contacts. * Must be able to work effectively in a fast pace, dynamic organization * Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations. **PHYSICAL FACTORS:** * This position will frequently stand, walk, bend and move about facility. Some physical exertion will be required. Frequent interaction with other personnel is expected. May be required to lift up to 75lbs.

Working Conditions

Exposure to dust, odors, fumes and noise are a regular aspect of working environment. Workspace is a combination of an office and manufacturing environment. Most work will be performed indoors, in an air conditioned facility.
