Summary
Are you a talented, experienced technical writer who loves to write about highly technical subjects and is known for your excellent technical writing skills? Are you customer orientated and passionate about making sure your documentation helps your customers successfully do their jobs? Switchfly is looking for an excellent technical writer who can write high-quality documentation that enables our customers and internal stakeholders to use our travel loyalty and platform offerings to best meet their business need. If you enjoy solving the puzzle of how to present complex, technical information in comprehensive, well organized, and easy to understand documentation, then this is the job and company for you.
Responsibilities
* Write content for Enterprise Travel and Loyalty platform, including industry standards such as HTTP, XML, RESTAPI, CSS and Handlebar templates * Write content to help customers understand the complex interconnected systems of travel. * Write How To articles, tutorials, security guides, and administration guides for web based application.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills:** * Excellent writing and editing skills. You must have 5 or more years of experience writing installation guides, user guides, system administrator guides, or run books for technical audiences such as database administrators, system administrators, developer guides. * Experience documenting security for enterprise-level software * Knowledge of typical IT or Web application tasks, or better yet, experience doing them. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to adapt to various methods of obtaining information from subject matter experts. * Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing responsibilities, situations, tools, and requirements. * Ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly. * Ability to work as a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment with minimal supervision. * Ability to work across time zones with distributed teams. **Strong Pluses:** * Experience using GitHub. * Experience creating videos for documenting products, or interest and ability to learn how. * Experience working in an agile-style development environment.
