Summary
Swirl is seeking an Assistant Media Strategist to join our fast-paced and growing team. This entry-level position will assist with media planning, buying, and implementation of campaigns across a wide variety of media vehicles with an emphasis on digital. The ideal candidate will have some experience (work, internship, college classes) in the fundamentals of media. He/She will need to have strong math skills, amazing attention to detail, and an analytical mind. In addition, we are looking for someone with a passion for advertising and an unquenchable curiosity about marketing. In this position you will support an experienced and cutting edge team while engaging with premier clients in B2B and B2C sector. Responsibilities
* Understand the target audiences through running syndicated research (using telmar, MRI, @plan, etc.) * Surface cultural and technology trends that impact how our target audience consumes media * Collect competitive research and prepare reports * Gather/compile data to support the media recommendation * Prepare media buy authorizations * Assist in the execution of media plans * Traffic and manage online media campaigns (Doubleclick) * Monitor media expenditures to ensure agency and client budget compliance * Participate in the weekly status calls with client and manage media feedback * Update client media activity flowcharts * Participate in brainstorm sessions
Ideal Candidate
* College graduate with a strong interest in a media planning career * Relevant experience (employment or internship) in media or advertising preferred, but not required * Solid written and verbal communication skills * Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) * Excellent quantitative (analytical and math) skills desired * Highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated * Able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure * Self-starter who is capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively * Passionate about emerging technologies and the evolving new media landscape
