Art Director

Surya is a leading home decor company that has gained attention for its innovative designs and breadth of high quality home accessories

The Art Director will manage and optimize all visual elements for the Surya brand, with a strong focus on high-quality photography and best in class visual identity, creativity, and brand impact.

* Develop and implement style guides to help improve product photography * Elevate and evolve the brand aesthetic while supporting the overall brand direction * Develop and execute creative concepts to ensure photo direction is aligned with the Surya brand * Conceptualize, plan, and manage photo shoots with ease, including product selection, styling, lighting and post production * Regularly collaborate with Creative Services Manager, photographers, Director of Marketing, industry partners, and cross functional partners * Meet budget and schedule parameters * Maintain positive work environment and high creative standards * Lead team of photographers, delivering a high-output of creative assets in a fast-paced environment * Partner with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure creative standards are met while innovating and keeping on brand * Work with post production to maintain quality and brand aesthetic for all retouching work * Finds and secures locations for onsite photography in partnership with head photographer, and photography staff; coordinate and execute on-location photo shoots * Maintain a library of interior design photography and advertising * Work closely with photography team to optimize in-house photo studio space

* BFA or equivalent in Graphic Design, Advertising or related subject * 8+ years of experience with visual design, communications, advertising, photography or related * Portfolio that demonstrates thought and leadership * Strong design background and eye for composition * A positive and professional attitude at all times * Strong time management, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task * In-depth knowledge of photography and print and digital production processes * Ability to shift gears in a fast-paced continually evolving environment * Team-oriented and collaborative approach to Creative development. * Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, efficiently and correctly. * Solid understanding of and experience in photo direction for interiors, exteriors, and still life photography. * Knowledge of home décor accessories * Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to creative development * Effectively partner with creative and product development teams * Ability to take ideas from concept to creative to final execution with ease * Must obsess over the details * Adapt and flex with business needs while still maintaining creative quality * Exhibit a can-do, solutions oriented attitude at all times * Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat * Understands project management, collaboration and scheduling tools (Excel, Dropbox, Basecamp, etc.) * Passion for interior design
