Summary
Manages the AME validation team. Responsible for all team performance in the areas of quality, delivery, performance to budget, performance to schedule, team building, employee engagement, and new product process validation and new product implementation. Adheres to and develops quality standards and follows guidelines to meet product specifications.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the recruitment of temporary and permanent talent to the team. Ensures new hires meet all criteria for employment. * Personnel management including scheduling, providing technical assistance, and employee development which includes hiring, training, communicating company policies, coaching, counseling, administering performance appraisals, and enforcing company policies through appropriate disciplinary measures. * Responsible for ensuring individuals and team as a whole consistently achieves or exceeds all performance metrics as applicable. * Ensuring compliance with established regulatory and quality, legal, corporate, and human resources policies and procedures. * Promotes product innovation by listening, participating, and contributing to enhancement of current products and new innovations. Leads the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team to contribute in areas of Design for Manufacturability, Equipment Selection and Validation, Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, and Manufacturing Transfer of new products and other as required. * Adheres to standards of training and providing documentation, continuous performance enhancement, and reliability. These activities may include, but are not limited to the following: Audits, Validation, Design Reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc. * Promotes new product launch excellence using a team-based approach to elegant transfer of new products from Research and Design phase into production processes. * Promotes employee engagement by being responsible and accountable for actions promoting an environment that fosters personal growth and development. * Able to problem-solve and troubleshoot issues. * Focuses on customer satisfaction through teamwork and empowerment, solving problems through a consultative approach, operating with honesty and integrity and providing a highly responsive and unsurpassed level of customer service. * Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications. * Performs with honesty and integrity instituting a highly responsive and unsurpassed level of customer service. * Actively participates in the ongoing development of a corporate culture that strives to achieve the highest ethical standards. This is accomplished by conducting all business affairs ethically and lawfully and by ensuring open, honest communication without fear of retaliation. * Leads validation efforts for all new product launch projects including: process improvements, training, third party supplier management, and acting as a Validation SME within the organization.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Skills:** * Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education * Previous experience executing process validation Previous supervisory/management experience preferred * Excellent organization, planning, communication, project management and performance attainment in a manufacturing or logistics environment. * Moderate PC skills. **Physical/Safety Requirements:** * May involve prolonged periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and/or crawling as appropriate. May be required to move materials up to 50 pounds, reach, push, or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities. Coordination of eye, hand, and/or foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination/memory, reading ability, and memory retention ability. May require international and/or domestic travel of 25%. Requires use of safety glasses in designated areas. Closed-toe/heel shoes must be worn on the production floor; safety shoes are recommended.
