Accounting / Finance Manager

Stivers, founded in 1945, is a one-stop staffing company specializing in placing temporary, temp-to-hire and direct hire office professionals.

Kansas City, MO organization needs an accounting/finance manager. This individual must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or financial management and/or three (3) or five ( 5) years equivalent accounting work experience. Applicants must be proficient in QuickBooks, Excel and Word and possess strong organizational and supervisory skills. Candidates MUST be a Kansas City, Mo and Jackson County resident and a registered voter for a minimum of 1 year.

• Ability to track and monitor cash flow for numerous accounting systems;
• Supervise a two- person accounting office;
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports with presentations to Board members;
• Semi-monthly payroll preparation with ADP Workforce Now software;
• Tax reporting to all applicable entities;
• Maintain five separate bank accounts including monthly reconciliations;
• Prepare and monitor annual operating budgets, as well as multiple election budgets;
• Review/evaluate cost reduction opportunities;
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Other Required Skills:

The Finance Manager must also possess:

• Strong writing skills, communication and presentation skills;
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel and Word.
