Summary
We have an immediate opening for a wind energy industry veteran to serve as a business coordinator and supervising engineer for wind energy design engineering services. You will serve as a business development lead, a project manager, and supervising engineer on utility scale wind and energy storage projects in the United States. The role will include managing internal staff resources in engineering and planning as well as managing sub-contractors. Candidates should have experience managing large capital projects in renewable and/or conventional power generation, including experience in engineering team management and construction management and oversight.
Responsibilities
* Lead business development for wind energy services in the US through participation in industry events and conferences, meeting prospective clients and developing service proposals * Lead preliminary and detailed design engineering projects covering site civil, structural, and electrical disciplines * Act as owner’s engineer for electric utilities and independent power producers to develop preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and EPC bid materials for wind projects * Provide support on independent engineering, due diligence and technical advisory services as needed * Develop and manage key client relationships that exploit our multi-disciplinary service offerings * Assist Manger of Renewable Energy with recruiting new staff, professional mentoring and training * Track and participate in external strategic initiatives that contribute to enhancing market presence and visibility among target clients. Represent company in external engagements by speaking at conferences, participating in technical working groups, and authoring white papers and thought pieces * Coordinate with Marketing and Communications to develop and maintain external marketing materials and capability statements relevant to the practice
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 - 7 yrs. experience in wind power and total of 15 - 20 years experience in power generation * Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering; Masters or MBA preferred * Licensed Professional Engineer strongly preferred; Project Management Professional a plus * Proven track record of growing and expanding services in consulting engineering strongly preferred * Demonstrated experience with design and project management of utility-scale and/or C&I-scale wind and solar power generation projects preferred * Prior experience business development, project management and project delivery capability. Able to tap existing network of IPP developer and utility client contacts * Work both independently and as a member of a project and management team * Availability to travel 1 – 2 times per month for multiple days each time * Past experience working for project developers, consulting engineering services firms, or electric utilities required
