Ground Communications Technician

• A world-wide network of ground station tracking antennas
• Ship based telemetry systems
• Integration with NASA's data relay satellite network, flight control voice systems, data servers, and video
• Local and remote RF and information systems hardware
• Mission voice communications
• Mission control centers
• Communications coordination as part of the flight team during Dragon missions and Falcon 9 launche

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic, technician or construction worker
• 3+ years of experience with real-time operations
• Experience with electronic testing and troubleshooting
• Experience with cable and harness building and repair

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Associate's degree
• Experience with testing (procedures, equipment and tools)
• Experience with low earth orbit tracking antennas
• Licensed electrician or contractor
• Experience with voice and/or audio communication systems
• Experience with facilities and related infrastructure construction and maintenance
• Interest and experience operating ham radios (or an amateur radio license)
• Marine experience
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Meticulous attention to detail, standards, and documentation
