We have become the largest charter high school in Bexar County with four campuses located in the populated areas of the Northeast, Northwest and Southeast sections of San Antonio, Texas.
Position Summary
Classroom teachers provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. They enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the districts syllabi.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles in accordance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills as well as with best practices of teaching.
- Present subject according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Work cooperatively with administrators, superintendents, and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in the Individual Employment Plan.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve of staff committees as required.
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate.
- Use computers, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies and administrative regulations.
- Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experimental activities and guide students in learning from those activities.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
Certifications & Licenses:
Special Education EC-12 (ESL endorsement preferred)

Working Conditions
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (4 days a week at the elementary campus and 1 day a week at our secondary campus)
