Summary
The Marketing & PR Specialist will report to the Chief Development Officer and will be responsible for all design creation and promotional materials of the organization to include: program, services, special and fundraising events and fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities
The primary fundraising event promotion will include the Night for Life Gala, International Dining Out for Life, fall event and other special events within the community that benefit Southwest Center. The Specialist will work closely with the Chief Development Officer to manage a Public Relations database, concentrate on targeting media opportunities and request advertising/media coverage of the special events. The Specialist will also prepare media kits.
Ideal Candidate
Position Qualifications * College degree preferred. * Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Microsoft Word, Access and Excel) is required. * Creative and design experience is required. Requires a person with strong marketing, PR, communications background. * Social media background required. Knowledge about the legal and proper use photo, clipart and other design images is required. One to three years of experience in non-profit marketing preferred. * Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment and comply with continuous and multiple deadlines and evolving priorities. * Experience establishing media contacts and corporate media relationships. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Strong writing, presentation and communication skills. * High standards of quality and accountability. Personable, yet professional and confidential. Must have a mature and positive work attitude; reliable and resourceful. * Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team with a range of people. * Willingness to work on evenings and weekends for special projects and events when needed.
