About Solovis, LLC
We’re inspired by change. If you’re up for the challenge then you could be a good fit for the Solovis team. We offer a competitive compensation package, a stimulating work environment and the opportunity to be part of something that is growing fast and changing the way institutions and families manage their assets.
Summary
We’re looking for four Junior and Senior Analysts to join our team. You’ll start by going through a “boot camp” where you’ll learn about our software and the investment industry. Then you’ll spend your days working in spreadsheets – hours upon hours (if you can’t take it, don’t apply.) You need to be the kind of person who takes pride in receiving a large mass of often shoddy data and producing a neat, accurate portfolio model in our system.
Responsibilities
Analysts have two roles: * Implementation: you’ll work to normalize large data sets from multiple sources then load them into our software. As you normalize the data, you’ll resolve inconsistencies with the client and learn to create VBA or SQL scripts to speed up the process. You’ll mine balance sheets, income statements, investor allocation tables and transaction logs for data. * Ongoing Support: We offer Analyst Services packages to support our clients post-implementation. When clients subscribe to Analyst Services the team that implemented them stays on as their Analyst team. As part of this service, you’ll help clients enter market value and performance data, supplemental data and create reports. You may also help them load additional data sets or develop new business processes.
Ideal Candidate
Junior Level Analysts * Have less than two years of experience, a related degree and may have had an internship in a related business like an endowment or investment manager. * Have excellent verbal and written communication skills * Have advanced Excel skills (there will be a test!) Senior Level Analysts * The attributes listed above for the Junior Analyst * Have two or more years relevant job experience or academic experiences working with large data sets (in disciplines for which extreme attention to detail is critical.) * Is a self-starter who is able to plan their own work to meet deadlines. People who love this job: * Love details * Are at ease with numbers * Quickly become familiar with Investment Reporting including back office / accounting and front office / performance, exposure, liquidity, etc. * Grasp the investment management landscape (investment managers, clients, securities/holdings and third party vendors/ data providers) with minimal training * Learn to evaluate trade-offs between the amount of data captured and reporting efficiency * Are comfortable working on their own or in groups * Are comfortable interacting with and training clients * Have the ability to work a flexible schedule, for example, evening and weekend work may be required around a client’s deadline * Want a job where they can learn new things every day * Are able to travel up to 25% of the time * Live in or are willing to relocate themselves to Charlottesville, VA.
