Summary
The Communications Associate implements social media outreach and plans as directed. He/she delivers member-facing email campaigns, and develops and distributes digital newsletters to members.
Responsibilities
* Works with SfN departments to develop communication plans for projects and priorities to be promoted. * Writes and edits member newsletters, emails, and other communications as assigned. * Assists with social media campaign planning and implementation, including management of the social media editorial calendar. * Monitors and reports on social media outreach, including weekly and monthly reporting. * Serves a point of contact for all SfN departments for blast emails; tracks and reports email analytics * Coordinates blast e-mail process, coordinates timing, and ensures uniformity of content/messaging.
Ideal Candidate
**Education and Experience:** * Bachelor's degree in Communications or other relevant field * 2 years' experience **Proffered Qualifications :** * 1 year specific experience with social media writing, journalism or with public relations * Knowledge of social media products. * Basic understanding of email software and HTML helpful. * Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced, small team environment with a high degree of collaboration. * Effective oral and written communication skills; outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills to interface with internal and external customers. * Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a flexible manner to address changing needs. Language Ability: * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, read and write short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. **Math Ability:** * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. **Reasoning Ability:** * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. **Computer Skills:** * To perform this job successfully, the incumbent should have knowledge of MS Office, web email client, ability to learn new systems such as CMS.
