Summary
We are looking for a versatile technical addition to our development team here in Seattle. The position offers an extensive amount of ownership and influence to our development processes as we scale the largest team based fundraising solution in the country. You will be called upon to not only write the code, but also be a key driver in our product's development.
Responsibilities
* Manage development operations and systems infrastructure for existing and new products * Monitor infrastructure at both systems and application level * Structure performance testing / scaling for peak seasons and YOY 4x growth * Advise development teams on system needs with ability to implement independently * Maintain security and PCI compliance standards * Potential to manage product releases once verified by the technical owners * Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency * Be comfortable releasing production ready code on tight deadlines with high visibility * Communication above all, do you know when to speak up and ask for help or feedback?
Ideal Candidate
* BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject * 3+ years of professional experience as DevOps / Systems Engineer * In depth knowledge of application and database server infrastructure using AWS * Understanding of operational processes for code release to staging and production environments * Database level familiarity with MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) * Architecting and monitoring background jobs using Delayed Job and Sidekiq * Implementing and managing deployment processes using tools like chef and Capistrano * We are a rails based architecture, experience with the framework is a major plus * Experience in systems security and maintaining PCI compliance * Understanding of Git for source code management and revision control * Service oriented architecture, understanding of how to implement systematically * Knowledge of external API’s for bulk mail and credit card processing * Email infrastructure, deliverability, and familiarity with the Sendgrid API * An adaptable attitude and understanding of the agile methodology * Ability to reevaluate priorities on a tight timeline * Self-motivated with a Team-First mentality
