Summary
Snap-on Power Tools is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for the Kenosha, Wisconsin Headquarters. The selected candidate will develop innovative cordless power tools designs that meet the premium expectations of Snap-on customers.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for research and development for cordless power tool batteries and jump packs, and working in the Advanced Technology Department of Engineering for Cordless Power Tools. * Lithium-ion technology for battery packs * Charging circuitry for power electronics * Understand and write program software for microprocessors (i.e. C, C+, C++) * Ultra capacitors * Jump pack theory and power control circuitry designs for automobiles **Competencies** The candidate will be expected to * Provide electrical engineering expertise in digital and analog electronics * Guide procurement for component and supplier selection * Solve problems and be a self-starter * Manage projects in a mutually respected environment * Understand electrical schematics and board component layouts * Develop and oversee test procedures and validate test results
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering required * Five (5) years product development experience * Demonstrated skills in the design of battery, battery control circuits and power electronics * Skilled in developing, testing and troubleshooting of electrical circuits * Understands complimentary technical disciplines: software programming and mechanical basics * Learn government/regulatory agency approval standards * Experience working with CAD packages (i.e. AutoCAD, Creo, Altium, Ansys) a plus * Experience working with electric electric motors (i.e. PMDC, BLDC) a plus * Experience working with control logic for electric motors a plus
