About Slack
Slack is a messaging app for teams that is on a mission to make your working life simpler, more pleasant, and more productive. We believe everyone deserves to work in a welcoming, respectful, and empathetic culture. We live by our values and hire accordingly.
Summary
Slack is looking for an experienced writer to work with our Enterprise team on product copy and content strategy and to contribute craft and process improvements for the product writing and design groups.
Responsibilities
* Own product copy/content strategy for Enterprise features, from admin-facing dashboards to Slackbot messages to tools for general users. * Translate complex and extremely technical requirements into a clear, humane, and pleasant user experience. * Partner closely with user research to discover the patterns, behaviors, and unique challenges of very large organizations using Slack. * Collaborate with the product, design, and marketing teams to develop clear and consistent terminology for use in the product (and resolve conflicts when they surface). * Help improve and implement design processes for the product writing team, and the design team as a whole. * Be an active and available peer mentor for other writers. * Find just the right word. And the right emoji.
Ideal Candidate
* A cover letter and portfolio of your work. * Demonstrated record of writing successful UI/UX copy with measurable impact, and ideally, experience doing so at a mature software company. * Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, or equivalent design tools. * Ability to track the effects of your work across multiple teams, and proactively manage issues and complexity. * Understanding of the Slack voice, and ability to extend it and adapt it based on context.
