Skyword is seeking an Associate Editor with strong B2B tech experience to help produce authoritative and in-depth content for our clients’ exciting online technology publications. Working with some of the best freelance writers, on content for the biggest names in the technology industry, the Associate Editor revises and improves articles in order to meet client expectations and inform, engage, and inspire expert audiences. The ideal candidate must have experience in the information technology space at the enterprise level, as well as two or more years of experience working for tech companies, trade journals, or publications in a feature/news writing or editorial capacity. Skyword’s B2B tech Associate Editor will work with clients across enterprise IT, information security, cloud services, networking, technical service, emerging technologies, and small-midsize IT.

* Edit content produced by Skyword's freelance contributors for style, grammar, punctuation, syntax, spelling, and search engine optimization * Modify content to clarify meaning, to conform to a client’s editorial style guidelines, and to align with a client’s brand voice * Provide editorial feedback and revision requests to writers in order to strengthen each piece and ensure they meet the assignment brief and content guidelines * Organize and prioritize clients according to agreed-upon deadlines?

**Requirements** * 2+ years experience in technology feature/news publishing, preferably online * 1-5 years experience in a relevant IT field prior to publishing preferred * Excellent spelling and grammar skills with an exceptional eye for detail and a creative approach to content * Knowledge of both The Chicago Manual of Style and the AP style guide * Ability to adapt to specific editorial styles depending on client needs * Ability to be flexible with priorities, responsibilities, and deadlines * Experience editing at high volumes * Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver constructive feedback to writers effectively * Self-starter approach to work with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility * Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial culture * Solid references * Experience editing technical content strongly desired * Ability to develop a network of technology writers and subject matter experts is strongly desired **Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience * Bachelor’s or associate degree in information technology or similar field * Knowledge of search engine optimization concepts * 2+ years of professional editing experience
