Agency Underwriter

• Provide real estate analysis, loan underwriting and debt consulting services to FNMA DUS lenders and Freddie Mac Seller Servicer clients.
• Analyze and interpret financial statements and rent rolls for multi-family properties.
• Research real estate market information including interviews with market participants.
• Perform site inspections.
• Review and analyze appraisal, engineering, environmental and seismic reports to ensure compliance with client requirements as well as to identify underwriting risks.
• Borrower/Sponsor credit review and analysis.
• Candidates must have strong written communication skills to convey deal terms in asset summary report format, including, deal strengths, as well as deal risks and mitigants.
• Proforma cashflow modeling based on due diligence findings and Agency guidelines.
• Manage assignments with full accountability for multiple transactions across multiple clients/lending institutions.
• Manage client relationships and interact with a wide range of high-level decision-makers.
• Mentor, manage and develop junior team members.

The ideal candidates must have experience underwriting FNMA DUS and/or Freddie Mac loans multi-family loans, a thorough understanding of Agency underwriting processes, credit/risk management policies and guidelines is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree - finance, commercial real estate and/or real estate valuation preferred.
• 3+ years of real estate experience including 2+ years of Agency underwriting experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills including advanced Excel knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
