Summary

SiteSpect is seeking a Sales Engineer based in California. It is the SE’s responsibility to provide pre-sales technical support and guidance to prospective customers and collaborate with the sales team throughout the sales process -- from fielding technical question to in-depth product demonstration to conceptualizing and recommending the appropriate solution offering. As such, the SE is required to possess a hybrid set of skills which involve technical proficiency, effective communication, and persuasiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in sales pitches and product demonstrations both online and at customer sites and events such as trade shows.
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations exemplifying the application of SiteSpect on HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, and results analysis.
  • Refine and research the technical requirements of the sale. Provide guidance to the sales team and customer on solution implementation options.
  • Act as an interface between the Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Professional Services teams to prepare implementation plans and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Promote innovative approaches to addressing technical challenges.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of competitive offerings and industry trends.
  • Assist in responding to Request for Proposals (RFP's).
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
  • 5% - 10% travel should be expected.
Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years in B2B technical sales with a strong record of sales success contribution.
  • Expertise in all of the following is strongly desired:
    • Front-end Web application development, including HTML, JavaScript, and Regular Expressions
    • CDN’s, DNS, and Load balancing
    • Browser-side Web optimization techniques
    • Web Analytics, performance measurement, and statistics
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake the initiative and responsibility for decisions on major technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a proven ability to present to technical and non-technical decision makers at all levels. Strong telephone presence and Web presentation skills
  • BS/BA in a technical discipline is preferred.
  • Strong work-ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Prior start up experience is a plus.
