Senior Thermal Systems Engineer

The primary function of the Pre-Award Thermal Systems Engineer is to establish the thermodynamic design for power generation projects and prepare performance calculations necessary to establish heat balance and process flow diagrams. Design Responsibilities are primarily focused on combined cycle power plants.

* Work in close conjunction with all design engineering functions of the Division as well as sales, marketing, outside architectural engineers, project management and external customers in developing Heat Balance Diagram (HBD) documents, Thermal Performance Summary (TPS) reports, Performance Data Sheet for estimate and guarantee, performance related risk management and technical mitigation strategies, and contractual language related to performance guarantees. * Attend internal and external customer meetings to discuss technical issues and understand customers’ requirements. * Provide customers the necessary technical data, recommendations and guidance in making decisions on plant technologies and configuration selections. * Evaluate individual vendor’s component performance to ensure the plant performance expectation requirement is fulfilled.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience** * BS in related engineering degree. * Fundamental understanding of Power Plants, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Condenser, Cooling Tower, Thermodynamics and Heat and Mass transfer principles. * 5-8 years of direct experience * MS in related engineering degree. * Proficiency in thermodynamics and chemical process steady state simulations. * Programing skills in Visual Basic Application for MS Excel, Words and XML. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Creative problem solving and critical decision making skills. * Committed, collaborative, dependable and communicative team player who is capable to work effectively under a fast paced and high stressed environment.
