Staff Accountant

Shutterstock is seeking an accounting professional to take on the role of Staff Accountant to help support the continued expansion of our global business. The successful candidate will be involved in the timely and accurate processing of the monthly close processes. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable with rapid changes in direction and environment.

* Own various monthly close processes * Analyze expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis * Prepare monthly account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts * Assist with financial audits, SEC filings and SOX compliance * Assist with monthly/quarterly financial reports and analyses to various departments and business units * Other ad-hoc projects, as necessary

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance * 1-3 years accounting experience; CPA preferred * Public Accounting experience is preferred, 404 experience is preferred * WorkDay Financial experience a plus * Proficient in Microsoft Excel * Ability to bring insights and suggestions for process improvement * Highly detail oriented and organized * Excels in learning quickly and taking ownership of own development * Thrives in a fast paced environment and handles pressure well * Ability to be pro-active and a problem solver * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; this role will interact with management frequently
