Shutterfly, Inc. is seeking a Copywriter to help say and write it all. We are an ecommerce company with an in-house creative department and this is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and imaginative candidate to conceptualize, create and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, while evolving our voice and tone. We’re looking for someone who thrives on taking initiative and takes pride in developing work that breaks through the clutter.
We Want To Talk To You If You Have....
- Are a compelling copywriter and storyteller
- Know the importance of being dynamic, playful, innovative and customer-centric
- Love brainstorming and pushing ideas as far as possible
- Believe that “what’s next” and “what’s fresh” is the way to stay relevant
- Have advertising copywriting experience for retail or ecommerce
- Can infuse five words (or less) with emotional resonance
- Know the rules, and most importantly, when and how to break them
- Have experience creating and evolving a brand’s voice and tone
- Are open and willing to hear constructive feedback and edits
- Proven ability to balance the brand’s voice with direct response effectiveness and performance
- Project and time management skills
- Excellent language, grammar and writing skills with attention to detail
- A killer book (please be sure to submit your samples when you apply)
Even Better If You Have....
- 1–2 years consumer marketing experience
- Ad agency or in house experience as a copywriter
- Flexible with urgent requests
- Write clear, concise and strategic direct mail pieces that drive business results, support key marketing initiatives and inspire action
- Write customer-centric copy that uses the appropriate voice for a particular customer
- Drive and manage projects internally; gain approvals from internal partners and managers
- Attend kick-offs and creative reviews and collaborate with the marketing team to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
- Condense significant amounts of messaging into succinct consumer communications
- Work closely with peers in design and marketing while maintaining and upholding the Shutterfly brand to ensure a consistent tone and style across all communication
- Continually ascertain workflow efficiency and accurate completion of projects according to deadlines
- Additional responsibilities as requested by manager
