Responsibilities
Responsibilities: - The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the Manager of Marketing and Communications in the planning and implementation of integrated marketing and communications initiatives in support of the organization's business and marketing goals. - The Marketing and Communications Specialist functions as a member of a cohesive Marketing team with major responsibilities for building, conceptualizing and executing marketing strategies and plans that support the organization's growth and retention initiatives, meet regulatory member communications guidelines and deadlines, and enhance the image of Sharp Health Plan. - Supports the Manager of Marketing and Communications to ensure communications tools support sales and marketing objectives, as well as the brand. - Assists in the development of the annual marketing strategy & plan to support assigned customer segment(s). - Oversees the day-to-day operations in the development of project briefs, strategies, content outlines, recommended content and concepts for communications programs. - Oversees the preparation of marketing concepts and the production of advertising, digital and printed collateral materials. - Initiates, develops, and implements communications strategies and processes to support organization objectives. - In coordination with health services and wellness teams; develops marketing programs and content that support positive health outcomes for members. - Develops outbound marketing campaigns through effective marketing strategies and tactics that increase customer acquisition, satisfaction, retention and loyalty. - Acts as the subject matter expert for assigned customer segment(s). - Monitors competitive communications from competing health plans and shares insights and recommendations on an on-going basis. - Owns budget planning and management for assigned segment(s). Oversees language translations of marketing materials for customer segment(s). - Serves as PR lead, proactively exploring story ideas and developing press releases for assigned customer segment(s). - Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree with focus on marketing, communications, public relations, or equivalent work experience 3 - 5+ years experience in marketing communications within an agency or large regional organization encompassing multiple communications disciplines, including media relations Previous experience with content development - Excellent written and verbal communications skills - Insightful and innovative - Knowledgeable about health plans and healthcare - Impeccable attention to detail Writes, thinks, and can present clearly, strategically and persuasively - Proven ability to efficiently and effectively lead and manage cross-functional teams, agencies, and external vendor partners - Continually builds knowledge and seeks to innovate - Successfully creates clarity and drives decision making when dealing with ambiguity Preferred Skills and Experience - Previous health plan and/or healthcare experience
