Optical Sales Engineer

* Develop and expand sales contacts, manage sales prospects, and close sales within a defined geographic region. * Evaluate customer requirements and configure appropriate solutions. * Generate quotations and proposals in response to RFQs and RFPs. * Conduct presentations, sales calls, and visits; set up and install equipment; perform customer demonstrations and training. * Attend technical exhibitions. * Coordinate the logistics, communication and associated paperwork for sales and service in the territory. * Function as a liaison between the customer, production, accounting, engineering and service. * Participate in the identification and development of new market opportunities. * Travel would be ~50% of the time domestic in the southeast region. Candidate may work remotely from a home office. Some air travel required.

* Minimum B.S degree in Science/ Engineering or Communications/Marketing. Additional business education desirable. (Technical product training will be supplied.) * Skill and proficiency using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and sales management software such as ACT!. * Minimum of 5 years of experience selling electro-optical systems, metrology, and/or optical instrumentation with a demonstrated ability to close competitive sales. * Strong self-directed organizational skills to organize time effectively on daily and weekly basis. * Experience in monthly sales forecast and prospect analysis reporting. * Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others, to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals. * Demonstrated ability in problem solving, crafting a win-win solution. * Physical requirements: must be able to lift demonstration equipment, up to 50 lbs. * Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
