Responsibilities
* Live by and champion our cultural values of Happy, Hungry, Honest, and Humble. * Work hand-in-hand with our website and marketing team to build and maintain an amazing website and intranet experience for our customers and employees. * Architect dynamic WordPress pages, templates, content types, and taxonomies to support our website initiatives. * Craft pixel-perfect, responsive UI using WordPress/PHP, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and Javascript/JQuery. * Maintain the highest possible customer experience with cross-browser testing, performance tuning, regular bug fixing and a passion for tech debt reduction. * We're an agile, fast-growing company and this job description isn't meant to be a complete list of your qualifications or all of the things you'll do.
Ideal Candidate
You are a WordPress pro who regards code as poetry and has a passion for creating engaging, precise, and lightning fast experiences. You care about consistency, forward-thinking architecture, security, and building interactions that will delight the user. * 5+ years experience in enterprise-grade or e-commerce website development using WordPress. * You love a good debate on whether to use a plugin, content types, or page templates to build out customized content. * You are proficient in PHP. * You’re seasoned enough in the field that you’ve built your own theme or plugin. * You know how important performance and security are for a company that acquires new customers through their website. As such, you have a disciplined process for evaluating potential WordPress plugins and you monitor performance regularly. * You’re comfortable with Git and enterprise hosting providers like Pantheon to deploy code across dev, test and live environments. * You’ve implemented pixel tracking code and data layer attributes for services like Google Tag Manager. * You’re adept at creating responsive and interactive web pages using WordPress, PHP, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, Javascript/JQuery. * You’re comfortable integrating content from third party APIs. * You have an understanding of photography, usability, visual design, and modern interaction patterns. * You are proficient in sprint planning, estimation, time management, and communicating status. * Persuasive - Bring others to their point of view using logic, data, and emotion. Have a formal process and framework by which to make qualitative and quantitative points, not just using emotional appeals. * Accountable - Being willing to answer for the outcomes resulting from their own choices, behaviors, and actions. Take ownership of situations that they're involved in. * Self Motivated - Motivated to do or achieve something because of one's own enthusiasm or interest, without needing pressure from others. * Focused - Achieve what they set out to do before launching new initiatives. Complete company-linked goals and tasks, not simply to be busy and active. * Collaborative - A keen ability to support cross-functional projects and decisions. Gets energized from working within a team and cross-functionally to achieve the company's goals.
