Summary
This role will collaborate, coordinate, develop and execute high-quality design products that effectively communicates Seattle University's brand.
Responsibilities
**Design and Art Production** From initial strategy and client collaboration, to maintaining a strong brand presence, this position is responsible for delivering innovative and successful marketing solutions. Responsible for all print production, including stock selection, pre-press preparation, color proofing, and press checks. Work with web team to translate designs to on-line platform. **Project Management** Responsible for the overall management of all aspects of assigned projects from start to finish, including writing creative briefs, developing requests for estimates, selection and coordination of appropriate vendors, scheduling, processing invoices and archiving. **Oversee Freelance Resources** Selecting and art directing freelance designers, photographers, illustrators and also SU work-study students to handle overflow workloads and special projects. **Campus-wide Brand Support** Familiarize the campus community with the appropriate use of the Seattle University brand by directing them to available brand tools, including the logo download and photo database websites, brand identity and editorial style guides and Seattle University-branded templates.
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor's degree in relevant field and two years of experience at creative agency or in-house design firm or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. MacOSXplatform proficiency. Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CS5 - primarily InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of web communications methods and ability to translate design to web. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Filmmaker Pro proficiency. Strong communication skills. Verbal, written and visual with ability to work collaboratively. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. The graphic designer is required to maintain a broad knowledge of concept development, design, production, art direction and project management. All candidates must show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and the university's mission, vision, and values. All positions at Seattle University require a criminal history background check. Three or more years of experience at creative agency or in-house design firm.
