Summary
The main purpose of this position is to manage the collections function for the portfolio of Scottrade Bank Equipment Finance (SBEF).
Responsibilities
* Responsible for monitoring, managing and reporting collection efforts and risk activates related to collection matters for SBEF in an effort to maximize recovery while complying with regulatory requirements. * Lead collection workflows, day-to-day collection efforts for accounts 11+ days delinquent and provide guidance on departmental and legal projects/issues. * Accountable for managing and directing the activities of any third party servicer as it relates to the early stage outsourced collection efforts for the SBEF loan portfolio. * Establish lines of communication and work with SBEF sales teams, customers and third parties to identify alternatives (modifications/restructuring of contracts) to repossession while conforming to lending policy and consumer collection regulations. * Manage loss mitigation functions including asset retention, collateral disposition and accounts requiring outside legal action. * Communicate decisions, priorities and project information to relevant parties. * Participate and help manage Watch List Committee meetings, including preparing watch list reports, risk rating recommendations, and provide updates on delinquent and repossessed assets. * Communicate with vendors on collection matters and SBEF’s expectations for the vendors to support and participate in collection matters. * Assist Asset management with vendor management pertaining to collateral recovery, transporting, and disposal, legal and bankrupt accounts. * Assist Asset management with the repossession process as needed. * Assist the Operations Team to ensure proper titling/UCC filing, invoicing for repossessed assets. * Assist the Operations & Credit Team with non-monetary default situations including insurance, financial reporting, and title work. * Assist the Operations and Loan servicing with balance verification to ensure proper funds are collected for early terminations and casualty losses. * Report and analyze KPIs and KRI’s. * Perform other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:** * Strong knowledge of collections, bankruptcy laws, legal systems and federal/state/local laws. * Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing to effectively handle sensitive issues and facilitate critical interactions. * Effectively create and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals. * Excellent prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple job duties in a fast paced environment. * Strong proven leadership, team building, mentoring, training and coaching skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the division and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers. * Ability to analyze reports, interpret results into necessary training and solve problems quickly and thoroughly using strong decision making. * Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude. **Physical Activites & Requirements, Visual Acuity, Working Conditions And Noise Level:** * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. * The physical requirements of this position are considered to be sedentary work (Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time). * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less in order to view a computer screen). * The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate (business office with co-workers, copiers, shredders, printers, etc.). **Contacts With Others:** * Contacts with other persons within the department on routine matters as well as regular contact with other departments, or outside the organization furnishing or obtaining factual data requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. May need to regularly utilize specialized communication skills in order to maintain goodwill with internal and external contacts. **Minimum Education & Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. * 10+ years credit and/or collections experience required. * 5+ years of experience focused in the Equipment Finance industry required.
