Shipping / Receiving Clerk

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, dependable and detail-oriented individual for our Shipping/Receiving Clerk position. If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to the success of our world-class manufacturing facility, then this position is for you!

* Receive, process paperwork, and deliver freight receipts daily. * Receive, distribute, and post mail daily. * Handle materials including location, identification, and control of stock products; maintain stock of area materials. * Perform inventory cycle counts and provide other area support as needed. * Keep accurate and up-to-date records. * File loss/damage claims with carriers. * Recycle or dispose of scrap manufacturing materials. * Reconcile discrepancies with buyers and suppliers. * Prepare shipping containers in accordance with SEL standards. * Coordinate pick up and drop off with carriers. * Continuously identify, measure, follow, and improve area processes. * Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:** * Ability to maintain high standards for receiving, stocking and documentation, and error-free shipments * Strong data entry, proofreading, and filing skills * Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds * Knowledge of packing materials and shipping requirements * Ability to follow established work schedule and procedures * Adhere to SEL's tobacco-free policy * Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills * Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities * Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment * Background check results satisfactory to SEL * Negative drug test result(s) **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience in forklift truck operation
