Summary
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and meticulous individual for our Associate Compliance Engineer position. If you are looking for an opportunity to lead in the development and generation of EMC hardware specifications for products of high complexity, then this may be the position for you!
Responsibilities
* Lead in the effort to ensure SEL products, processes, and facilities, comply with applicable industry safety, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility standards. * Research and develop SEL standards and guidelines for product safety, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility performance * Research and equip SEL laboratories to perform safety and type tests. * Train SEL engineers and technicians on industry standards, SEL procedures, and test equipment operation. * Oversee and supervise testing at offsite/outsourced test facilities. * Lead and conduct type tests. * Facilitate ISO 17025 audits. * Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes. * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications:** * B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant background or equivalent experience * Experience in the area of Compliance Engineering, with knowledge of UL, CE, CSA, IEEE and IEC Standards * Experience working in a quality regulated work space * Expertise of common compliance related test equipment, test chambers and testing practices * Self-motivated/self-starter * Ability to troubleshoot and resolve compliance test issues and problems * Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures * Demonstrate leadership knowledge and training skills * Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills * Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities * Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment * Background check results satisfactory to SEL * Negative drug test result(s) **Preferred Qualifications:** * iNARTE certification
