Senior Accountant

The award-winning Schoology team is growing quickly and with the business scaling, we are hiring a full-time, multi-faceted Staff Accountant who will support Schoology’s mission and help us reach our goals. While you will be working on various accounting tasks, it is important that you have the ability to help in other areas of the business such as Finance and Sales.

* Assist with the month-end close process and help reduce our cycle time * Assist with Audit preparation * Maintain accounting schedules such as fixed assets and prepaid expenses * Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations * Prepare monthly account analyses and recording journal entries along with supporting documentation * Manage expense reimbursement system * Assist with sales contract reviews * Create ad hoc Finance, Accounting and Sales reports using Excel

* 4+ years of Accounting experience * 1+ year of audit experience is a plus * CPA or on a CPA track * Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application * Ability to work independently and multi-task * Proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs, etc.) * Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
