Summary
The Small Business Acquisition Director will be responsible for the banks relationship with the Small Business Acquisition, ensuring Distribution partners in designated markets achieve Small Business Acquisition loan production and asset quality goals. Responsibilities for driving Small Business Acquisition volume include management of a team of Small Business Acquisition Lending Officers with oversight of pipeline, independent business development to source Small Business Acquisition opportunities, and working with credit teams to ensure Small Business Acquisition counter-offers are considered, where appropriate. Manage the end-to-end credit underwriting process for government guaranteed transactions to ensure that all loans are promptly submitted and underwritten and that the loan structures comply with program requirements. Remain current on various government programs and convey necessary information to Relationship Managers, credit professionals, loan documentation, and commercial loan operations partners to ensure banks compliance with program regulations. Maintain strong relationships with Regional and National Small Business Acquisition and other government program agencies.
Responsibilities
* Recruit and Maintain a strong team of Government Lending Professionals * Direct key Business Banking Small Business Acquisition Activities, Products and Process initiatives across the Santander footprint * Lead third party reviews to ensure that Relationship Managers, credit professionals, loan documentation, commercial loan operations, and workout partners are aware of and in compliance with all current program requirements in order to achieve satisfactory 3rd party review * Coordinates with executive leadership team to develop and execute the Small Business Acquisition credit product business plan and strategy to achieve aggressive portfolio growth, profitability, and asset quality objectives * Develop and Manage third party partnerships with the Small Business Acquisition district offices, Community Development Corporations, and other agencies across the Santander footprint * Work directly with customer, Relationship Mangers, credit professional, loan documentation, etc. to ensure that applications are submitted promptly and that they comply with all Santander credit and profitability standards and government program requirements * Oversee the business development & loan production of government guaranteed lending * Products by managing a team of 3-5 Small Business Acquisition Lending Officers
Ideal Candidate
* Advanced understanding of business credit, deposit and cash management products and services * Advanced knowledge of business credit underwriting * Advanced business development skills with broad market knowledge and presence * Education: Bachelors or Equivalent Experience * At Least 20 Years Specialized Knowledge * Broad exposure across financial services products, commercial segments and delivery channels * Demonstrated ability to work independently and leverage professional relationships within and outside the bank * Demonstrated superior sales, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills * Full utilization of Capital Management Group sales automation tools and related technologies * Solid knowledge of and experience with the Small Business Acquisition Banking community and its practices as it applies to Business Banking * Superior knowledge of commercial banking products and services, both credit and non-credit, Santander Bank’s Credit Policy and Procedures, competitor product lines and commercial compliance regulations * Management Scope, manage team members
