SQL Server DBA

SRP delivers high-value electricity and water for the benefit of our customers, shareholders and the communities we serve.

We are a community-based, nonprofit utility and one of the nation's largest public power utilities. SRP provides electricity to more than 1 million retail customers in a 2,900-square-mile service area that spans three Arizona counties, including most of the metropolitan Phoenix area (known as the Valley).

This position is responsible for supporting the day to day operation and stability of enterprise SQL Server 2008-2014 environments; installing high availability SQL Server environments on physical and virtual servers per enterprise standards; applying new versions, releases and patches as necessary.

• Provide primary support for SRP's enterprise SQL Server # environments.
• Complete requests from application teams for database changes, security changes, data loads, etc.
• Perform SQL Server software installations and database schema installations.
• Install and support SQL Server BI products including integrations with SharePoint 2013.
• Apply SQL Server version, release and patch upgrades.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to tune server and database performance.
• Maintain configuration information for the enterprise SQL Server environment, including details for server, storage, software versions, criticality, confidentiality, licensing, capacity and ownership.

• Completion of a Bachelor's Degree that prepares the employee for the assignment.
• Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1 demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor.
• Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three-years of experience at Level 2 is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
