Summary
The financial analyst role is a part of the broader Energy Risk Management (ERM) group at SRP. The function of the Credit Risk group is to report, analyze and approve credit-based risks that SRP faces as a result of doing business in various commodity markets, as well as coordinate credit functions across several departments. The credit analyst will be required to have knowledge of credit risk, financial statements, energy trading/commodity markets, bankruptcy considerations, and energy contracts.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with ERM Policy pertaining to commodity trading activity. - Proactively manage risks to ensure no credit losses. - Perform counterparty credit reviews, making recommendations for appropriate credit limits, credit support/collateral requirements, and appropriate trading restrictions. - Prepare daily credit exposure reports and periodic updates for executive management. - Monitor counterparty news and financial indicators. - Assist other departments with ad hoc research and analysis as required.
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * Completion of a Bachelor's Degree that prepares the employee for the assignment. **Experience** * Analytical experience in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. * Promotion to level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at level 1, demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. * Promotion to senior level requires a minimum of three years experience at level 2 is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
