PowerPlan Functional Business Analyst

SRP delivers high-value electricity and water for the benefit of our customers, shareholders and the communities we serve. We are a community-based, nonprofit utility and one of the nation's largest public power utilities. SRP provides electricity to more than 1 million retail customers in a 2,900-square-mile service area that spans three Arizona counties, including most of the metropolitan Phoenix area (known as the Valley).

The PowerPlan Business Analyst works with directly with finance and accounting end-users across SRP to resolve business challenges, understand and define potential enhancements to systems and processes and coordinates with the application support and technical support teams within the ESO to support and delivery quality functionality and business processes. The PowerPlan Business Analyst is also responsible for supporting activities associated with the SAP support packs, enhancement packs and partner system upgrades and enhancements. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring for projects. Occasional contacts with vendors of software, equipment and services. Occasional travel to industry organizational functions and SRP facilities. Ability to work effectively using the services of various organizational groups within SRP. Depending on assignment, frequent requirement to work with confidential data such as payroll and employee information.

* Excellent business process analysis and redesign experience; business analytical problem solving skills as well as the ability to quickly identify problems and recommend solutions * Enable configuration of PowerPlan software to satisfy business requirements and process design * Be a trusted advisor, helping the business make better, informed decisions by presenting relevant PowerPlan solution alternatives for key challenges; evaluate business and system impact of proposed changes * Confidently and assertively liaison with business users and ERP Support Organization * Partner with multiple business units in a service provider environment of continuous change * Develop documentation that effectively feeds training and change management activities * Support internal training development and training delivery to end-users * Engage in other assignments as requested by management

* Completion of a Bachelor's Degree that prepares the employee for the assignment. * Requires a strong background with accounting and finance business processes * Minimum of 5 years post degree experience required for senior level position. CPA a plus. * Requires 2-5 years of hands-on experience working on or with capital projects, capital budgets, fixed asset accounting or property tax software. Functional experience should include: - A strong understanding of asset life-cyle accounting and processes within the utility industry. - Experience in environments utilizing ERP with work and asset management applications. - Knowledge of how SAP cost objects and cost flow as it relates to cost centers, internal orders, work breakdown structures, cost elements, and reporting. * Knowledge of information and financial applications; with strong aptitude for computer information systems. * Experience with partnering applications interfacing through internal orders is a plus. * Prior experience using and/or implementing PowerPlan software is desired. * Knowledge of federal energy regulatory commission (FERC), financial accounting standards board (FASB) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and utility requirements * Excellent verbal & written communication skills. * Good presentation skills to articulate ideas, options & solutions. * Demonstrated ability to work in team environment and collaborate with others. * Strong relationship management skills. * Thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
