Product Manager

Safe Auto Insurance Company is a property and casualty auto insurance carrier based in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in 1993, we are built on a philosophy of customer service. A broad leadership position with direct accountability for the profit and growth of a given state(s). While the Product Manager does not directly manage all of the inputs, they own the full outcome. As such, the Product Manager acts as a general manager, working with various functional groups to develop the business strategy and lead its implementation for their state(s).

* Develops Business Plan * Collaborates with Marketing and Claims to define the growth and profit objectives for the state * Defines the state budget with emphasis on loss and acquisition costs * Defines and leads the execution of a detailed state action plan * Produces the state forecast of premium, expense, policy counts, policy transactions and claim counts * Makes All Pricing Decisions * Adapts the aligned product (pricing structure, eligibility, rules, bill plans, limits/deductibles, etc.) and policy contract to optimize local outcomes * Makes pricing selections that ensures meeting calendar year and lifetime combined ratio targets * Uses expertise to influence management targets such that they are optimizing the financial outcome * Demonstrates understanding of internal and external loss trends and competitor pricing trends when making pricing decisions * Executes Policy Forms * Ensures form content and execution is compliant * Ensures forms completion meets legal standards to support coverage elections * Ensures Compliance with Laws and Regulations Related to Product and Pricing * Jurisdictional Authority * Is recognized as the ultimate authority for their jurisdiction through command of their product construct and performance, understanding of laws and regulations, relationships with state insurance regulators, competitor knowledge, and local market nuance as reflected in strategy formation. * Supervisory Responsibilities * Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Directly manages a Product Analyst.

* Must possess leadership, communication and project management skills. The associate in this position must have the ability to represent SafeAuto’s interests to regulators and other key audiences. Demonstrated creativity and innovation skills are desired. * MBA/Master's degree preferred with 5-7 years of business experience and a demonstrated track record of business decision-making and leadership. Must have superior problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills and proven ability to make data-driven decisions.
