We have an opening for a PBM / Managed Care Pharmacy in the Tempe, AZ area.
Responsibilities
As a Managed Care Pharmacist, you will receive written, faxed, or emailed prescription requests or refill requests. * Reviewing pharmacy prior authorization requests for medical necessity, using best practices and quality standards and meeting turn-around times as defined in the departmental metrics * Assist in developing and maintaining drug utilization guidelines for Prior Authorization criteria * Assists the Director of Pharmacy in preparing for P&T including preparation of committee packets. Makes recommendations regarding new medications and trends in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy * In collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy, evaluates and reports on high cost and high volume drugs or drug classes, recommending possible needed actions * Brings significant issues to the attention of the Director of Pharmacy, with recommendations for solutions * Assist the Director of Pharmacy in preparing the pharmacy program for review and survey and accreditation processes by external monitoring agencies, such as DHCS, DMHC, CMS, or NCQA * Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy * Assist the department as needed for coverage during the absence of the Director of Pharmacy
Ideal Candidate
* Area: Ability to work in the Tempe, AZ area * Licensure requirements: Must have valid, open and active Arizona Pharmacist license * Education: B.S or Pharm D * Years of experience: 1-2+ year(s) of recent pharmacy experience within a retail pharmacy setting * Schedule: TBD- can vary depending on the need of the pharmacy * Length of Assignment: TBD * Pay: Depending On Experience * Background/drug requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, and drug screen
